EngLingDISC
(English Linguistics Department-Internal Student Conference)
We – Jakob Edlinger, Philipp Trojan, and Michelle van de Bilt, three MA students of English Language and Linguistics – invite all students to participate in a department-internal linguistics student conference.
When?
Saturday, 8 November 2025 (the exact schedule will be available 1 week in advance).
Where?
Helene-Richter-Saal UniCampus Hof 8 3G-EG-21
What?
Students from the English Department are invited to showcase work (whether finished or in progress) from their linguistics courses, from PS1 papers to master’s theses. Presentations should be ca. 15-20 minutes long, followed by 5-10 minutes for questions and discussion.
Why?
Our main goals are…
- to give you insight into the research being done by your peers,
- to help early-semester students find inspiration for their own academic paths,
- to promote exchange and discussion among colleagues at different stages,
- to provide a space for us to share and develop ideas,
- to offer a valuable opportunity to practise presenting in a supportive, low-stakes environment and to experience a conference atmosphere first-hand.
How to sign up?
If you want to attend as a presenter or as an audience member, fill in the form below. If you want to present, please apply by 26 October 2025. You will receive a response within a week after the deadline.
