4th Attempt (Courses with continuous assessment)

If this is your 4th attempt at taking a lecture exam, please read the information under Exam Registration.

The system will not let you sign up if it is your 4th (last) attempt at a course with continuous assessment. You will see that the registration status is incorrect - please enter your registration on u:space nonetheless. After you have entered your preferences (Parallelveranstaltungen), please write an e-mail to the SSS (sss.anglistik@univie.ac.at) during the registration period. (for MA/MEd students - please include how many points you want to spend). The SSS can then change the status of your registration. Please make sure to inform your teacher at the beginning of the course that this is your last attempt.

Student Parents

Student parents can register for courses via special regulation during the registration phase if the following conditions are met: Child is 3 years or younger OR Child is 10 years or younger & student parent is working full time.

Please email sss.anglistik@univie.ac.at BEFORE the start of the registration period and include scans of the following documents to confirm your student parent status:

  • Child's birth certificate
  • Residence registration form (Meldezettel) of the child AND parent
  • Confirmation of professional activity indicating number of working hours per week (if child is older than 3 years)

Having done that, register for the courses you would like to attend at the very beginning of the registration phase via u:space and immediately send an e-mail to the SSS Anglistik with the request for registration. The SSS will allocate you to the course/group of your choice.

SPL Special Permission

If you do not fulfill the requirements to attend a specific course or exam you can seek permission from the SPL12 to do so. Please note that the SPL permission can only be granted by the director of studies in very specific cases to avoid extreme delays in completing the study program. Students will be required to provide documentation and reasoning for the permission. For questions, please contact the SPL team directly.

Once you have received the permission, please let the SSS Anglistik staff know well in advance (before or during the registration period) by writing an email from your u:net address, specifying the reason and forwarding the SPL's email with the permission.

Depending on the case and course in question, you may be granted permission to register in the normal or in the late registration period. A course spot cannot be guaranteed.

The SPL permission applies only to courses offered at the English Department!
