How to complete your BEd UF Englisch
In order to complete your BEd UF Englisch there are a few steps and aspects you need to keep in mind. Read the information below and follow the steps as indicated.
The submission process of the documents for the final check happens via u:space.
For questions and further assistance, please contact the SSS Anglistik.
Your steps towards graduation
Step 1: Check your record of examinations
Open your record of examinations in u:space → Studies → Record of examinations.
- Does it list all courses you have completed?
- Are all courses assigned to the correct module?
- Are all relevant traffic lights in the record of examinations ‘green’?
Please contact us if you have any questions or if a grade has been assigned to the wrong module.
BEd (old Curriculum before 2026): Wahlbereich
If you are finishing in the old BEd programme, please make sure that the Electives module (Wahlbereich) has been completed (10 ECTS over both subjects)!
Please contact the SSS Anglistik if you completed courses beyond those 10 ECTS, as those grades have to be moved to your Module of Interest (Interessensmodul). They will not count towards your degree.
Important information regarding graduation
-
Block I/IIa
In order to finalise your BEd, you need to have completed Block I in both teaching subjects and Block IIa in one of the two. Please mark on u:space, which teaching subject you would like to complete as a long subject, where Block IIa has to be completed in its entirety.
If you have completed classes for Block IIa in your other subject as well, these will be transferred automatically to the MEd, once you are enrolled and will count towards Block IIb.
-
Latin supplementary exam
If you have to take the supplementary Latin exam (Lateinergänzungsprüfung), please remember that it must NOT be the last exam taken during your studies! You can check whether you need to take the exam in your u:space profile, under “Personal matters” → “My documents” → “Student record sheet”. If you need to take Latin, this will be marked in this document.
-
Taking exams
Once you have completed your final exam, you will no longer be able to take any further exams for this programme. Therefore, be sure to assign your exam results to the desired modules in your record of examinations in a timely manner.
Step 2: Check your personal data
Check your name and academic degrees in u:space.
Check your personal data in u:space
Your name is spelled incorrectly or you would like to add a middle name? Send us corresponding documentation (e.g. marriage certificate, passport, identity card) via the Servicedesk. The admission office will change your name according to the documentation you have provided.

Step 3: You receive an e-mail
- As soon as your final exam has been assessed, you will receive an e‑mail with the subject line "Information: Ihre Abschlussleistung wurde eingetragen / Your final exam has been entered".
- Therefore, regularly check the inbox of your University of Vienna e-mail address.
- Please follow the instructions in the e-mail.
You have not received an e‑mail even though you have completed all steps? Please contact us.
Step 4: Submit the graduation application form
Within two days of receiving the e-mail (see step 3), the ‘Graduation application form’ button will appear in u:space → Graduation. Click this button and complete the form.
Please download the following document from u:space ("My documents" directory):
- Confirmation of courses passed (Bestätigung über positiv abs. Prüfungen).
Check if the document includes all your academic achievements and if all your grades are allocated to the correct modules.
Proceed to submitting the document via u:space. Remember to complete this process for every part of your BEd studies: one at the SSS/ SSC of your UF 1, one at the SSS/ SSC of your UF 2, and one at the Zentrum für LehrerInnenbildung.
Please note: The SSS/ SSC of your UF 1 is responsible for collecting all required documents and issuing your BEd certificate.
Attention!
In case there are any inconsistencies upon submitting your application for issuing the degree certificate, the SSS Anglistik will contact you via email after checking your application.
Step 5: How to receive your graduation documents
As soon as your request has been processed successfully, you will receive an e-mail containing all graduation documents.
- Official notice of degree award
- Degree certificate
- Diploma supplement with your grade point average
The documents are usually issued within four weeks of submitting the form.
