Studying Abroad - Overview
Students in our department who'd like to spend one semester abroad as part of their study programme can apply for an Erasmus+ student exchange (with partner universities in Europe, including UK and Ireland). Another option would be the Non-EU exchange programme with places in the USA, Canada, Australia, Asia, South America and Africa.
Find out more information on the programmes offered by the International Office. After you have read their page, return to our website to learn more about the specific conditions applying to the Department of English.
There are several other self-organized possibilities to go abroad that aren't administered by our department. You'll find all the information you need on the following websites:
-
Short-term grants abroad (KWA)
Funding for research conducted abroad within the scope of a diploma/master’s thesis or dissertation worldwide.
(2 weeks - 3 months) -
Erasmus+ Traineeship
Study-relevant, self-organised traineeship in another European country for a minimum stay of 2 months.
-
Teaching Assistantship
Especially for B.Ed. and M.Ed. students, usually 8 months at a secondary school in one of 12 different European countries.
-
Fulbright Program
combines Teaching Assistantships in the US with the possibility to attend university courses, among other options.
